Etosha National Park Namibia

Etosha National Park is the second largest wildlife reserve in Namibia, covering an area of 20,000 square kilometers in Northern Namibia. The park encompasses the Etosha salt pan, which draws a variety of animals, especially during the dry winter months, as it provides a water source in an otherwise arid region. The wildlife that can be observed here includes Rhinos, Lions, Zebras, Giraffes, Gemsboks, Springboks, Wildebeests, Elephants, and Jackals. Each of the three rest camps has watering holes just outside the boundary fence. These are illuminated with floodlights at night, allowing visitors to watch as the animals come to drink, socialize, and occasionally engage in conflicts, well into the night. These spots are perfect for unwinding with a sundowner after a day of wildlife spotting. Visitors are not permitted to leave the rest camps after sunset, so these water holes offer a chance to continue observing the animals after dark.
