Kanab is a city and the county seat of Kane County, Utah, in the United States. It is situated on Kanab Creek, just north of the Arizona state border. The area was first settled in 1864, and the town was established in 1870 when ten Mormon families moved there. As of the 2010 census, the population was 4,312. Locals often call Kanab "Little Hollywood" because of its history as a filming location for mostly western movies and TV shows. Kanab is located in the "Grand Circle" region, centrally positioned among Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, Bryce Canyon National Park, the Grand Canyon's North Rim, Zion National Park, and Lake Powell.
