As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,046, and by 2015, it was estimated to have increased to 5,235. It serves as the county seat and is the largest city in Grand County. Moab draws a significant number of tourists each year, primarily those visiting the nearby Arches and Canyonlands national parks. The city is a favored base for mountain bikers who utilize the extensive network of trails, including the Slickrock Trail, and for off-road enthusiasts who participate in the annual Moab Jeep Safari.
