Waikkal Sri Lanka

Although they're also situated in the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles have no connection with other islands around them - like Madagascar or Sri Lanka. In addition to the colourful difference of its flag, adorned with five different colours compared to the two-tone Malagasy or the tri-coloured Sri Lankan, it's also closer to the Equator. This geographical feature ensures good weather during trips that are taken from October to May, this being the season when the winds are more humid and it's hotter; whereas in January and December, rainfall is more likely, adding to the experience of travelling to the Seychelles. This archipelago of the Indian Ocean is made up of outer islands - more difficult to access and wilder environments - and inner ones - inhabited and much easier to visit. In the latter case, it includes Mahe, the land where the capital and most populous city of the country is located - Victoria, where 85% of the Seychelles population live - as well as the airport where the plane that will take you to this paradise country, filled with beaches and dreamy sands, lands. As you explore this beautiful island, you'll notice that most of the inhabitants of Mahé are of French Creole descent, although Indian, Malay or African lineages also survive in some families. This blend of cultures has given the Seychelles a wide range of culinary offerings heavily influenced by its diverse origins, and among its most typical dishes, you can't miss the recipes with meat, vegetables and rice.
