Sintra merece ter sido declarada Património Mundial. De um lado fica a praça e o Palácio Nacional, do outro um emaranhado de pequenas ruas repletas de lojas e restaurantes encantadores com iguarias portuguesas. O Palácio da Pena é, sem dúvida, a estrela da Cidade. Só de ver a arquitetura do palácio e as diferentes cores marcantes das torres, vale a pena a visita. Tanto o interior do Palácio da Pena como os jardins que o rodeiam são um claro exemplo do romantismo português do século XIX. Além disso, a sua localização privilegiada no topo de uma colina confere mais solenidade ao local verdadeiramente impressionante, não em vão que ali tenham vivido até cinco reis.
Cascais tem estado historicamente relacionado com as classes altas da sociedade e esta relação começou em 1870 e foi graças à família real portuguesa que transformou a região num local que se tornou atrativo para a nobreza e aristocracia, tanto nacionais como internacionais. Foi assim que Cascais ganhou parte da sua vitalidade quando, a partir da década de 1930, começou a reunir gente da classe alta portuguesa. Serviu até de país de refúgio para a família real de Espanha, e outras famílias reais europeias também vieram viver para aqui. Cascais era conhecido como “o refúgio dos famosos” e agora, embora já não seja um destino de luxo e seja acessível e permitido a todo o tipo de viajantes, mantém aquele ambiente descontraído, relaxado e pouco massivo que o caracterizava naquela época. .
Lisboa é uma cidade cujas vistas são fantásticas tanto do seu interior como das águas do Tejo. Agora chegou o autocarro anfíbio de Lisboa, um novo veículo que nos permite ver a cidade de ambos os lados sem sair do veículo.
É certo que Fátima faz mais sentido para os católicos, mas se não é católico e também quer conhecer esta cultura, vale a pena visitar Fátima e ver a relação dos fiéis e devotos com toda a história e atrações turísticas da cidade. Basicamente, todos os pontos turísticos estão dentro do Santuário de Fátima e podem ser facilmente vistos e visitados a pé. A Basílica de Nossa Senhora do Rosário é o coração do Santuário. Foi construída no local onde os três pastorinhos viram a Virgem de Fátima em 1917. A igreja foi inaugurada em 1953 e é aí onde estão sepultados os três pastorinhos, Lúcia, Francisco e Jacinta. A Nazaré é uma típica vila piscatória, sede de um pequeno concelho, com casas brancas espalhadas por escarpas íngremes, e rodeada de enormes rochedos, a Nazaré é um dos melhores destinos turísticos de Portugal. Hoje ainda é possível passear pelas ruas da Nazaré, por exemplo na sua tranquila muralha junto à praia, e encontrar locais que albergam os trajes típicos desta vila, os pescadores vestidos com camisas axadrezadas e calças pretas, e as suas mulheres com sete saias, realizando muitas vezes as tarefas piscatórias típicas da região: remendar as redes de pesca ou secar o peixe na areia.
A cerca de 70 quilómetros de Lisboa encontra-se uma das jóias arquitetónicas de Portugal, a vila de Óbidos É uma cidadela fortificada, como o próprio nome indica, uma vez que “Óbidos” provém do latim “oppidum”, termo utilizado para designar as antigas muralhas. . Na verdade, acredita-se que Óbidos foi um forte celtibero que expandiu o seu perímetro ao longo do tempo. Alguns arqueólogos apontam mesmo para uma possível presença dos fenícios na zona.
Buddha Eden – o maior jardim oriental da Europa. O jardim oriental com cerca de 35 hectares foi criado em reacção à destruição dos Budas de Banyan, onde ocorreu um dos maiores actos de barbárie cultural, eliminando obras primordiais do fim da arte Gandhara. Desde Budas, a pagodes, estátuas de terracota e esculturas diversas, meticulosamente colocadas nos jardins, estima-se que tenham sido utilizadas seis mil toneladas de mármore e granito para criar esta obra monumental. A escadaria central é o ponto principal, onde os Budas dourados o irão receber. No lago central, pode observar carpas japonesas e dragões esculpidos a emergir da água. Há também a oportunidade de ver setecentos soldados de terracota pintados à mão, cada um deles cópias únicas dos que foram enterrados há 2.200 anos.
